Hyundai SUV Comparison: Which Hyundai SUV is Best for Your Melville Drives?
Hyundai offers an extensive SUV lineup to suit a variety of needs and preferences, with appealing nameplates representing the industry's most popular segments. And with their comfortable accommodations, excellent practicality, and abundant amenities and tech features, they're among the most compelling options in their respective segments. But which one is best suited to your lifestyle? To help point you in the right direction, here's a quick look at each models differentiating attributes.
Hyundai Venue

Despite a diminutive outward appearance, Hyundai's smallest SUV provides versatile practicality in a comfortable and uniquely stylish package. The Venue is a subcompact crossover with room for five and up to 32 cubic of cargo space with the second row folded. It's also an appealing value, with three feature-packed trim levels-including a nicely equipped base tier-and a leading warranty at an accessible price point.
The Hyundai Venue comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and advanced driver-assist technologies, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keeping Assist, and Driver Attention Warning.
Power comes from an efficient 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine (121 horsepower) paired with a continuously variable transmission.
Hyundai Kona

If you'd prefer something a bit roomier and with a side of sportiness, the Hyundai Kona might have just what you're looking for. Also a subcompact crossover, Kona is on the larger side of the segment, offering comfortable 5-seat accommodations and a max cargo capacity of 45.8 cubic feet.
Kona's nimble size and agile handling make it fun to drive, especially when paired with one of its turbocharged engine options. Standard power comes from a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter engine with a CVT. But if you're looking for more internal motivation, N Line and Limited trims equip a 195-horsepower turbo 1.6-liter with a quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. And if you really want to unlock Kona's full potential, the high-performance Kona N steps things up with a 2.0-liter turbo that outputs 276 horsepower.
Hyundai Tucson

With its classy and capacious accommodations, advanced tech features, and a trio of efficient powertrain options, the Hyundai Tucson is one of the most appealing options in the highly competitive compact crossover class. The roomy cabin provides excellent ergonomics and plenty of room for passengers in either row. Even rear-seat passengers will appreciate ample legroom and reclining seatbacks. With all seats in use, Tucson offers one of the segment's most spacious cargo areas at 38.7 cubic feet. And when you need more room for errands or adventures, the second row folds easily to provide up to 80.3 cubic feet.
In its standard configuration, Tucson is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder (187 horsepower), with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic helping achieve an EPA-estimated 29 mpg (FWD; combined city/highway). The Tucson Hybrid equips a turbocharged 1.6-liter assisted by an electric motor, increasing horsepower to 227 and improving EPA-estimated fuel economy to 38 mpg. Finally, the Tucson Plug-in Hybrid uses a larger electric motor and battery pack to output 261 horsepower while achieving an impressive estimated 80 MPGe (mpg equivalent) and 33 miles of electric-only range.
Hyundai Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe is a midsize crossover and Hyundai's largest two-row model. While its cargo area is slightly smaller than its Tucson sibling (36.4 to 72.1 cubic feet), Santa Fe provides an even roomier passenger compartment with a slightly higher driver vantage point. It also moves several features down to the base trim level, including Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, rear air vents, second-row USB charge ports, and extra underfloor storage.
Santa Fe offers a similar powertrain lineup to the Tucson, but with the addition of a turbocharged 2.5-liter option. Standard on Limited and Calligraphy trims, it increases engine output to a potent 281 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque.
Hyundai Palisade

If you need extra space, seatbelts, and safety features for your larger Dix Hills family, the Hyundai Palisade is a superb selection. A midsize three-row SUV and Hyundai's largest model, Palisade has been a favorite of both customers and critics from the beginning for delivering a premium driving experience without the premium price tag. Boldly stylish and luxuriously accommodating, Palisade offers a pleasingly appointed interior with modern design details, quality materials, and comfortable accommodations for eight riders (seven with second-row captain's chairs).
Cargo space measures 18 cubic feet behind the third row, 45.8 behind the second, and a generous 86.4 cubes with all rear seats folded. Palisade also offers a long list of standard driver-assist technologies, including Smart Cruise Control, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist. A 3.8-liter V-6 provides plenty of internal motivation (291 horsepower, 262 pound-feet of torque) and enables Palisade to tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Hyundai IONIQ 5

As the first model built on Hyundai's Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the IONIQ 5 is a major step as Hyundai strives for more sustainable automobility. And with its distinctive futuristic style, practical range, and ultra-fast charging capability, the IONIQ 5 makes a strong case as one of the industry's most attractive EV options.
With three available powertrain options, the IONIQ 5 allows you to choose your preferred blend performance, range, and value. There are two rear-wheel-drive configurations. The SE Standard Range (168 hp, 258 lb-ft) equips a 58-kWh battery with an estimated range of 220 miles. All other RWD models increase output to 225 horsepower, with a 77.4-kWh battery providing an impressive 303 miles of estimated range. AWD models make a potent 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque and offer ~256 miles per charge.
Charging the IONIQ 5 is easy and can be completed overnight (~9.5 hours) with standard 7-kW Level 2 charging equipment. 22-kW public chargers can replenish the battery in ~6.5 hours. And for long road trips, the IONIQ 5 is capable of ultra-fast 350-kW charging, adding 68 miles of range in five minutes and refilling the battery from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes.
The IONIQ is nicely equipped across its lineup and comes standard with a wealth of amenities, including a 12.3-inch navigation touchscreen, a digital gauge cluster, and a full suite of advanced driver aids. Cargo capacity measures 27.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 59.3 cubic feet with the second row folded.
